Divorce in The News! February 2025

Every few weeks or so, I check to see what is happening in Divorce News. I search "divorce" in Google and put a time frame on the search of that current week/month to give me an overview of what is happening in divorce news. The trending news is typically celebrity news.

Yes, in the news, it is the celebrities that get all the attention. I am not looking for articles that are celebrity-focused. I am searching for articles that can help regular people look for answers as they navigate the difficult road of divorce. If you are looking for celebrity divorce news, here are a couple in the news to take a look at.

Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates says 2021 divorce is the 'mistake' he most regrets. I just read the article, and all I have to say is, "Suck it up, Bill Gates, it was your own fault. She is probably better off."

Drew Barrymore details ‘painful' fallout from Will Kopelman divorce I know how painful divorce is Drew.  I am sorry for your pain.  I have lived it, too, and I will never be the same.

1-I spent the year after my divorce traveling to 20 countries. It helped me heal and fall back in love. Most of us going through divorce do not have the finances to travel to 20 countries, but that does not mean we cannot travel.  Distancing yourself in any way is a distraction from the pain and a chance to see things with a new perspective.  Going on a day trip, exploring a new town, and enjoying a new restaurant are all ways to travel.  I had many avenues of distraction and it helped me survive during the most painful transition of my life.

2- Parental divorce in childhood tied to 61% higher stroke risk in older adults. There are times when divorce is necessary, such as infidelity or abuse. Sadly, there are times when the decision to divorce is just plain selfish.  Only a selfish person would do this to their family if it was unnecessary and they are to blame for the consequences.

3-Man uses wife's recorded conversations in divorce case, gets Supreme Court heat. This article comes out of India.  Laws vary from country to country and from state to state here in the US.  With that in mind, it is wise to have a good divorce attorney who can advise you on the evidence needed for your case.  For example, I tell people not to throw away anything: my attorney used my photos in evidence to show that my ex, who claimed to never be happy in our marriage, actually was.

4-Can Ozempic Lead to Divorce? Here's Everything to Know, According to a Psychologist. Any significant life change can add stress to a relationship.  I was reading some of the potential effects, including decreased sex drive, decreased "empathy center," which, according to the article, makes you less kind, and it plays with your hormone levels....what fun is all that.

5-Woman Contemplates Divorce After Hitting Her Limit with Husband's 'Long History of Being Thoughtless' Interesting article.  Many will be divided on this.  I see her side and her concern for her son.

That's it for now, for divorce in the news.
God Bless You On Your Journey!
